After checking out the mighty Brown Sabbath show, a side project of Grupo Fantasma side project Brownout (with Brownout side project Money Chicha opening the bill - that's a lot of side projects!), I remembered that amazing clave-rock version of the Led Zeppelin banger "Immigrant Song" that Grupo played on a live video session for KUTX. As Visual Clave winds down its nine-week run at Bronx Music Heritage Center this weekend, we have this souvenir short film put together by Mathew Ramirez Warren and Rodrigo Balseca Carmona recapping the event, featuring Mr Salsa Izzy Sanabria and our own Pablo Yglesias. With footage from the Brooklyn, Bronx and UMass-Amherst shows, there are so many friendly faces popping up in this, along with all that great album cover art! Check out the video.

Here's a peak at the talents of filmmaker Rodrigo Balseca Carmona, an amigo and co-conspirator of Peace & Rhythm. Inspired by Leon Gast's "Our Latin Thing", this documusic video tours us through the culturally rich neighborhood of Washington Heights, NYC by way of a boy running through the barrio/hood. We get a peek at the diversity of daily and nightly life of this Dominican diaspora fused with an equally dynamic instrumental which mixes the old sounds of Nuyorican boogaloo and salsa with classic hip hop beats. https://vimeo.com/119055693
