These two tropi-heads will be spinning from their expansive vinyl direct to The Quarters Sound System. At last, Ilene Stahl's Klezperanto comes to Franklin County! With spectacular technical virtuosity and a wry sense of humor, Ilene Stahl and an all-star line-up of Boston's best musicians re-groove traditional klezmer and Mediterranean melodies, rip up Romanian surf tunes, cover cop show themes and cumbias, slay a few standards, and burnish it all to a funky finish. The Peace & Rhythm DJ crew (Andujar, Bongohead & Studebaker Hawk) will be spinning records at New City Brewery in Easthampton MA for an evening thing this Thursday. We'll also have P&R releases and t-shirts for sale. We'll be spinning a wide range of styles, including funk, soul, rock, dub, cumbia & afrobeat, all from vinyl, from 5-10 pm. Come and listen to the fantastic Ola Fresca octet at the prestigious Joe’s Pub in Manhattan on Wed 9/16. This is the release party for the brand new LP version of “Elixir”, released by Peace & Rhythm. The album was given four stars and called “delicious, hot, modern salsa” by Songlines UK and was featured recently on PRI’s The World.
